ORTHODONTICS

Different types of braces:

• Clear Braces

Traditionally, braces utilise unattractive and uncomfortable metal wiring and brackets to straighten teeth. Clear Braces eliminate any obnoxious metal improving the entire orthodontic process. The braces are practically invisible, allowing the wearer to go about their day to day life with little to no disruption.

• Invisalign

A series of clear, removable braces both comfortable, effective and discreet are utilised. Invisalign braces are replaced every two weeks to ensure that your treatment continues to develop until your desired result is achieved. The removable nature of the Invisalign system ensures easier eating and cleaning.

• Dental Implants

A titanium post (like a tooth root) is surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath the gum line, enabling the dentist to mount a crown onto the post.

What is DSD?

Digital Smile Design is an amazing technology that has revolutionized how dentistry is practised today. With Digital Smile Design dentists are able to design your smile with you and essentially ‘test drive’ the results on your face before going ahead with the treatment.

This simple and intuitive digital procedure allows you to visualize, plan, and share the smile you deserve.

How does DSD work?

They do this by taking real scans and images of your existing smile. Then they overlay the images and analyse the following important factors of a smile: smile curve, smile plane, tooth shape, tooth size, face shape, face structure, and proportion. Once done, a digital image that portrays the best smile that suits your face is designed so you can see what your result will be after treatment. Once you are happy with the image of what your smile will look like, you will be provided with a 3D model of that smile to trial in the mouth.

 With Digital Smile Design the skill level of the dentist is crucial. Dr Linda Ridell is not only highly skilful in executing cosmetic dentistry procedures, but she also has a keen eye and the creative ability to imagine and realize the optimum smile for your face.  

CLEARLINE ALIGNERS

Clearline orthodontic treatment is designed to move, and correct, crooked and misaligned teeth. A series of invisible clear aligner trays are comfortable, have little effect on speech, and are nearly invisible. Most of the time it’s impossible to see that you have aligners in your mouth, and you can take them out to eat!

 The Treatment

Your dentist will fit the aligners to your teeth and monitor progress throughout treatment. Aligners are worn 22 hours per day to gradually improve your smile and bite and are easily removed only for eating and brushing. Each stage of treatment consists of a series of up to 6 aligners to be used for a period of 2 weeks each. There may be as many as 4 stages of treatment. Treatment time can take 6-18 months.
