The Old Harbour Open-Air Museum is a provincial heritage site. It is unique in that apparently it is one of only two fishing harbours in the world that has been conserved in tact.

Overstrand municipality has been informed by the consultant, Integrate Structural and Civil Engineering, that approval has been given by Provincial Dept. of Transport and Public Works for the construction of a new right turn lane at Whale Coast Mall on Trunk Road 28 (R43).
Work on this project is set to commence on Monday, 16 January 2023 and is anticipated to conclude by Friday, 17 March 2023.
The work is planned to take place on weekdays and Saturdays. The lane closure will be in effect from 09h00 – 15h30 during this period. We ask that the community please cooperate with the contractor on site while the project is ongoing.

• The R43 median
• The traffic island at the existing left-in to Whale Coast Mall
