Wildekrans Wine Estate Venue is situated between the leafy scenery of Botriver and the sunny beaches of Hermanus. Here on rolling hills overlooking Walker Bay, you’ll find the charming, old-world vineyard and wine estate, Wildekrans. The focus of this quaint wine estate lies very much in creating a fully home-grown product from our wines to your special day.

One of the oldest farms in the Botrivier Valley which date back to the early 1800’s is Wildekranz Wines and was originally used as an outspan post for the oxen and wagons of the 17th, 18th, and 19th-century travellers. Botrivier, the name of the town is derived from the meaning “butter river”, where the local Khoi San tribe used to sell butter to the early European pioneers.

As these early travellers descended the Houw Hoek Pass, they called the vast expanse of Overberg rolling hills in front of them,
“Canaan”, meaning “the promised land”.

Susan Skog visited Wildekrans Wine Estate in Botriver and shared her stunning flower photos on her Facebook profile.
